a lucky day!!!!

i was really lucky today... it was just a pure luck .. after all this months, i was praying for a good long case .. and guess what??... my prayer was answered and im blessed with a simple and uncomplicated case .... THALLASEMIA!!!!!... goodness gracious!!.. the informant was the mother and she told me that she had came thrice for our college finals!!!... She was a great historian... i sat beside her and before i could start my interview, she told me that she came for exam and told the diagnosis without asking!!! hehehehehe... my smile just came off naturally!!!

there are 4 of us in the cubical(all are paeds case). Ram, Jeffri, me and unknown senior... while clerking my history, i heard Ram presenting his findings to Dr angeline... he was presenting some cardiovascular findings... i heard he talks about murmurs and some CVS findings.... gosh!!!.... and then i heard jeffri was presenting his case to the panels while i was examining my patient's abdomen.... i heard some joint swelling and he needed to do some joint examination ..... what the heck!!!.. i was really in doubt whether i had Thallasemia in front me !!! because all my friends are having some not-so-straight-forward cases. Not sure what the senior got but i think is a cerebral palsy case...

my panels are nice ... Dr madavath kamath ( my paeds lecturer), Dr rakesh( my medicine lecturer) , dr sivabalan( HOD of surgical department in Hosp Muar) and an external from Obs and Gynae.... i thought i will be bombarded by Dr M.kamath as he was the chief examiner(he is famous of bombastic question that really makes u think !!!)... but mostly the questions were asked by dr sivabalan and the external... Questions were straight forward but went head-wired during genetic counselling....but whoohoo... time doesnt permit for further discussion...hehehehe.. but could answer here and there...

gonna have my short case this friday ( the ultimate day!!!)... will be very worried cause i need to brush up my murmurs, orthopaedics, surgery and Obs & Gynae... Oh shuckkss!!!!!....and mind you.. it is hell of alot!!!!...

okie dokie... time to study .. praying to get good case and good panels too!!!!!....bless me!!!

p/s : to my friends who sitting for their short case tomorrow.... wish u all the best!!!
